Students pursuing Humanities can anticipate: encountering diverse examples of historical and modern cultural challenges; learning key analytical approaches applicable to various humanistic inquiries; and participating in continuous dialogues about fundamental values and societal developments. The Humanities explore humanity's existence across time - our relationship with the natural environment we emerged from and the social, economic, and cultural systems we've built.
The Master of Philosophy in Humanities is an interdisciplinary degree program within Memorial University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Typically, the program supports around 20 graduate students annually and serves as an academic platform for approximately 50 educators from across the university, including visiting scholars, local cultural professionals, and postdoctoral researchers.
