The Master of Arts (MA) in Anthropology offers an interdisciplinary exploration across Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Sociocultural Anthropology, and Health Anthropology.
Graduates pursue rewarding careers in diverse sectors including government, corporate organizations, NGOs, and academic institutions.
This MA program equips students with advanced training in anthropological theory and research methodologies. Through either a one-year intensive track or two-year comprehensive option, learners specialize in their chosen focus area while completing either a capstone research project (one-year path) or a formal thesis (two-year path).

Anthropology graduates develop valuable competencies that appeal to employers:

Understanding of biological, environmental, cultural, and historical influences on human societies

Qualification Requirements

The University requires, as the major indicator of ability to complete a Master’s program successfully, the holding of an Honours bachelor’s degree with at least a B+ average (equivalent to a McMaster 8.5 GPA out of 12) in the most current 20 half credit courses in the discipline, or relating to the discipline, in which the applicant proposes to do graduate work.
