Lakeland College exclusively offers this Bachelor of Applied Science in environmental management. For those with existing environmental credentials, our career-advancing pathway provides targeted upskilling opportunities.

Diploma holders will expand their knowledge and capabilities.
Degree holders will acquire practical, job-ready field competencies.
Your initial 8 months at Lakeland will focus on developing technical and practical skills through career-oriented courses and field labs from September to April.

This is followed by an 8-month professional practicum with an employer. Our dedicated practicum coordinator assists in securing your placement, typically running from May to December, with most positions being compensated.

Upon completing your practicum, you'll conclude the program with a capstone presentation in late winter, presented to faculty, fellow students, peers, and industry professionals.

Qualification Requirements

If you graduated from a related degree program outside of Canada or the United States and completed coursework in inorganic & organic chemistry, introductory soil science or statistics, submit these documents: High school transcript with a minimum of 50% in English 30-1, 50% in Math 30-1, 50% Biology 30 (recommended) or 65% in Biology 20 and 50% in Chemistry 30 (recommended) or 65% in Chemistry 20. Post-secondary transcripts along with a World Education Services (WES) ICAP Document by Document Evaluation of your degree. Check the WES website for evaluation and cost. The evaluation must show an equivalent of a 4-year domestic degree. (A Canadian or United States equivalent is acceptable) Completion of a diploma program with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.3. You can take this year in Canada including the grade 12 year. This can be a combination of secondary and post-secondary education. You can take this in another country, but English must be the official language of instruction. Lakeland College maintains a list of countries that satisfy English proficiency. a grade of 60% in English Language Arts 30-1 (final blended grade including diploma or provincial exam mark) or Canadian equivalent a grade of 65% in English Language Arts 30-2 (final blended grade including diploma or provincial exam mark) or Canadian equivalent a grade of B or better in an O-level, GCSE, or IGCSE English Language or Literature course a grade of B+ or better in 6 credit transferable university-level English Language and Literature course completed at a recognized English language institution Successfully complete an English language program, with a minimum score at one of our approved partner schools. Successfully achieve an acceptable score within the past two years on an English language evaluation test. Tests must have been taken within two years of the start date of the program. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - minimum score of 6.0 overall with at least 6.0 on each band score on the Academic test for all programs. There is no pass or fail, instead you are rated on a 9-band scale for listening, reading, writing and speaking. A Band 6 rating is called a competent user. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - You need a minimum 78 score on the internet-based test (iBT) exam and a minimum score of 19 in each of the four tested areas. Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE-A) - Lakeland College requires a PTE Academic minimum score of 53 with no communication skill score lower than 50. Duolingo - Our standard acceptance score is 100 overall with no sub-score below 95.
