Indigenous communities navigate multifaceted land governance challenges encompassing territorial planning, legal matters like consultation obligations, reserve land dealings, local land agreements, natural resource management, environmental stewardship, and regulatory adherence, among other concerns. Your journey starts with the Kanawayihetaytan Askiy certification. Designed to fit around students' careers and minimize time away from home, this program combines online and in-person learning. You'll only need to visit Saskatoon three times annually for intensive two-week sessions featuring classroom instruction, practical workshops, and site visits. After these residential components, you'll complete final assessments remotely from your community. Upon earning your certificate, you can progress to diploma studies, all available through distance education.
