The Honours Environmental Sciences program offers adaptable coursework that establishes a strong base in environmental sciences while promoting interdisciplinary learning through specialized courses in ecology, inland water ecosystems, and plant biodiversity. In Level II, students can choose from various subjects such as earth history, soil science, geological processes, environmental geochemistry, climate systems, and hydrology. For Levels II and IV, elective options include climate system interactions, hydrogeology principles, biogeochemical cycles in watersheds, advanced climatology, contaminant geochemistry, freshwater systems, isotopic and microbial geochemistry, hydrological modeling, and groundwater contamination studies. The curriculum additionally covers environmental policy and impact assessment fundamentals.
Co-Op Program Details:
Admission to the co-op stream is competitive, with meeting minimum criteria not ensuring acceptance. Candidates are evaluated based on academic performance and an interview, requiring at minimum: timely online application submission, successful completion of Level II Honours Environmental Sciences with a 6.0 GPA, and specific course prerequisites. International Baccalaureate - High school transcript with predicted and or final IB grades. Final IB diploma results must be submitted to be considered for advanced credit. International Secondary School - High School transcript with interim and or final grades. If you are attending an international school that offers multiple curricula eg American GCE IB please ask your school to specify the curriculum in which you are enrolled and ensure that appropriate documents are submitted.
