The Sociology Bachelor of Arts program equips students with analytical, hands-on, and progressive education designed to ready them for careers and citizenship in an interconnected global society. Learners explore diverse sociological subjects including sexuality and gender studies, racial and ethnic communities, wealth disparity, First Nations research, popular culture analysis, schooling systems, worldwide societal challenges, and equity movements. During their advanced studies, participants refine their investigative abilities through research-intensive coursework. They can also opt for community-engagement classes, acquiring field experience by contributing to local organizations of their choice.
You have graduated high school (secondary school) OR completed 24+ credits of undergraduate-level credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
English Proficiency Requirements
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Test: overall band of 6.5 or higher, with a minimum 6.0 in each band, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): IBT 88 or higher, with no sub score less than 20, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): Score of 70 or higher with no sub score less than 60, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Pearson Test of English (PTE): Score of 61 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission
Language Proficiency Index (LPI): Level 5 with an essay score of 30 or higher, taken within the last two years from the term of admission.
