The Construction Technology and Management program equips students with comprehensive skills to oversee construction projects from start to finish. The curriculum covers essential topics including material selection, blueprint interpretation, and project workflows. Students develop expertise in cost estimation for residential projects, factoring in materials, labor, site expenses, and initial setup costs.
The program includes hands-on site visits and coursework in construction law, contract administration, technical drafting, and land surveying. Through industry insights and practical training, students gain real-world experience. Upon completion, graduates are prepared for administrative or mid-level management positions in the construction field.
After gaining two years of relevant experience, graduates qualify for registration with Island Technology Professionals (ITP), paving the way for Construction Technician certification. The Canadian Construction Association offers advanced Gold Seal certification for seasoned professionals in superintendent, estimator, and project management roles.
This CTAB-accredited program meets rigorous national standards, with certification achieved through thorough evaluation by industry experts. This accreditation assures both graduates and employers that the program aligns with Canada's engineering technology education benchmarks.
