NAIT's Construction Engineering Technology diploma program (offered with an optional co-op) equips students with comprehensive expertise in construction management, estimating, and technical practices, emphasizing building projects and associated industries. Applicants can choose between the standard 2-year format, a flexible 3-year reduced load option, or a 2-year online delivery method.
The curriculum strengthens structural engineering principles, blueprint reading abilities, and other core subjects to establish essential construction competencies. Through coursework in project scheduling, contract oversight, and team coordination, you'll prepare for supervisory and management roles in the field.
Industry professionals on the program advisory committee guide curriculum development to align with current employer needs. The program holds accreditation from Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC), the Canadian Construction Association's Gold Seal Certification, and the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS). Graduates qualify for professional certification with Alberta's Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals (ASET). This program delivers extensive training in construction management, cost estimation, and technical operations, with particular emphasis on commercial and residential sectors and their supporting industries.
