Engineering is typically linked to solving real-world challenges through analytical approaches that utilize mathematics, scientific principles, and problem-solving abilities. At Lakehead, we emphasize that engineers also need strong communication skills and awareness of business, legal, and social factors influencing the creation of technological solutions for a globalized world.
Civil engineers engage in planning, designing, constructing, and upgrading infrastructure projects such as buildings, airports, roadways, dams, power systems, water networks, bridges, and industrial complexes. They address design and research challenges in transportation planning, advanced construction materials, environmental concerns, water resource management, foundation engineering, and structural analysis.
Our Civil Engineering program holds accreditation from the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). We provide multiple entry options into our Bachelor of Engineering programs to suit students at various educational stages.
