Civil engineers shape our built environment - constructing highways and structures, overpasses and underground passages, aviation hubs and metro networks, as well as water treatment and waste management systems. They might focus on soil analysis, architectural and structural evaluations, land measurement, or urban development strategies.
At USask, we've transformed first-year engineering to enhance student success and inject more enjoyment into the learning process. Our innovative approach, called RE-ENGINEERED, stands unique in Canada. This program will ignite your passion and curiosity for engineering.
The RE-ENGINEERED program replaces stressful final exams with continuous assessments and quizzes, allowing for grade improvement if you face early challenges. Scheduled daily support sessions ensure timely assistance. Rather than traditional exams, you'll engage in practical courses that introduce various engineering fields.
You'll select your engineering specialization - referred to as your major or discipline - after completing your first year. This chosen field will become the focus of your advanced studies in subsequent years.
