The two-year GIS and Urban Planning diploma equips students with expertise in land use planning, development, conservation, and resource management across urban and rural settings, covering both public and private sector approaches. Students gain hands-on experience with advanced tools like GIS (Geographical Information Systems), AutoCAD, 3D modeling, and presentation software. The curriculum combines technical training with real-world case studies, enabling participation in actual land development project planning.
Two cooperative work placements offer valuable experience with government agencies, planning firms, or development companies. Graduates emerge ready for dynamic roles as planning technicians, design specialists, AutoCAD operators, or GIS analysts.
This program develops technical and design competencies for land use planning, environmental design, conservation, and resource management from diverse sector perspectives. Students master three key software platforms—GIS, CAD, and presentation graphics—through practical applications using real development projects. The training focuses on creating spatial databases, designing community-oriented development projects, and producing professional visual presentations including 3D urban space renderings.
