Discover how housing districts, business zones, communal areas, municipal services, and transit systems combine to create a city's distinctive character. You'll gain insights into preparing for urban evolution and making choices that benefit the community. Through hands-on workshops, classroom sessions, and practical assignments, you will: Examine the connections between social, cultural, financial, and structural elements of city growth, Develop abilities to collect and analyze numerical information, Gain expertise in digital cartography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Apply your knowledge by evaluating actual challenges found in Montreal communities and designing responses

Participants undertake comprehensive year-long initiatives within the Advanced Urban Laboratory. The student-led Urban Planning Association at Concordia arranges activities, conference participation, and networking events.

Cegep Students: No specific courses are required beyond a DEC. Minimum Cut-off Averages Urban Planning: Quebec Cegep (CRC): 25.000 (Honours: 28.000); Canadian High Schools: 80 per cent (Honours: 85 per cent); U.S. High Schools: 2.7 (Honours: 3.3); University Transfers: B (Honours: B+); International Bacc. (IB): 30 (Honours: 33); Bacc. Francais: 13/20 (Honours: 14/20). Minimum Cut-off Averages Urban Studies: Quebec Cegep (CRC): 21.000; Canadian High Schools: 72 per cent; U.S. High Schools: 2.5; University Transfers: C; International Bacc. (IB): 27; Bacc. Francais: 11/20. Make sure you also meet Concordia’s minimum admission requirements. Quebec: You must complete a two-year, pre-university program or a three-year professional DEC (Diplome detudes collegiales). CRC minimum requirements for admission vary between 19.000 and 30.000; however, based on space availability, students below this average may be considered. Other parts of Canada: You must be a high school graduate, depending on which province you are from. Applicant from other countries must have the requirements equivalent to Canada. English language requirements: Direct Admission: TOEFL (paper-based) score between 540 and 576. Conditional Admission: TOEFL (paper-based) score between 505 and 539; MELAB minimum score of 74, 2 on speaking tests; CAEL minimum score of 50; CAE minimum score of C; CPE (advanced qualification for proficient users only) minimum score of C.
