This program aims to guide and support students in conducting self-directed research on environmental and natural resource topics, fostering a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment. Upon completion, graduates will be equipped to:

Grasp established knowledge-building traditions while situating their own methodological approaches within this framework;
Pinpoint areas needing further study in their specialization through comprehensive literature analysis;
Develop and justify sound research proposals that address identified gaps while flexibly adjusting methodologies;
Gain expanded viewpoints on environmental and natural resource challenges;
Conduct investigations with ethical integrity;
Apply analytical reasoning while maintaining professional courtesy during scholarly discussions;
Oversee research implementation, working with advisory committees to meet agreed timelines;
Examine research findings, assess outcomes, and contextualize their significance within their field; and,
Generate original contributions to their chosen research domain.

Student must have:

  • Four-year Bachelor‚Äôs degree
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study
  • Degree granted by university of recognized standing

  • MELAB: 85
  • IELTS: 7.5
  • CAEL: 70 with no band score lower than 60
  • Dalhousie College of Continuing Education (CCE) : A-
  • Pearson English Test PTE Academic: overall score of 65 and nothing below 54
