Contemporary dance captures the spirit of today. It transforms traditional dance styles and pioneers innovative movement techniques. Our program provides the resources, environment, and experiences to enhance your artistic and technical skills as both a choreographer and performer.

What sets our program apart is its consistent focus on choreography and creative development throughout your studies, complemented by technical instruction that fosters artistic exploration and performance adaptability.

Our instructors are practicing dance artists with strong ties to the contemporary dance world. From day one, you'll be recognized as a developing artist, refining your artistic perspective with expert mentorship. You'll produce original choreographic works, engage in cross-disciplinary projects, and participate in performances of new pieces by fellow students.

Montreal thrives with artistic inspiration. Our graduates carry forward a legacy of creativity and leadership. This city offers the ideal environment to challenge yourself, expand your boundaries, and prepare for a professional future in contemporary dance with assurance. The curriculum focuses on contemporary dance techniques, with instructors incorporating various modern movement methodologies to create tailored training approaches that serve both choreographic investigation and performance diversity. Instruction may incorporate elements from established dance forms, movement fundamentals, barre exercises, floor techniques, somatic practices, and emerging fusion styles - all determined by instructor expertise. The program does not emphasize specific techniques like ballet, jazz, or modern dance styles such as Graham or Limon. Students develop skills in movement precision, physical control, rhythmic awareness, and expressive range. Most classes feature live musical accompaniment.
