The Commercial Dance (P106) certificate program is a one-year intensive training designed to develop versatile performers ready for professional opportunities. This comprehensive curriculum prepares you with the essential skills to thrive in the competitive world of commercial dance performance.

Through rigorous instruction in jazz, hip hop, and ballet techniques, along with specialized training in acting, vocal performance, and ensemble work, you'll build a diverse performance repertoire. The program also covers crucial industry knowledge, including career development strategies and self-promotion techniques.

Graduates emerge as well-rounded performers equipped for various opportunities including music video productions, musical theater, and entertainment venues like cruise ships. Admission requires intermediate jazz dance proficiency, with additional dance experience being advantageous. The selection process includes a jazz audition and interview to assess program suitability.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants are selected on the basis of their academic achievement, including the required courses, and any other selection criteria outlined below.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
Grade 12 English (C or U).
GBC is accepting audition requests through video submissions. Visit the Auditions page at Ballet Jrgen for program audition requirements.
A minimum of five years training in jazz dance, training in additional dance forms is an asset.

IELTS - 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each skill band. TOEFL iBT - 80 (online) minimum 20 in each skill band.
