Dance delves into the physical form's artistic potential through movement and expression. Your studies will encompass choreographic techniques and creative composition, blending practical studio work with academic learning. Over four years, you'll create and showcase your own performances.
The Dance degree is administered by the School for Contemporary Arts within the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, available exclusively at SFU's Vancouver location.
Simon Fraser University's School for the Contemporary Arts seeks candidates for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair specializing in Indigenous Contemporary Arts. This tenure-track role targets emerging scholars (Assistant/Associate Professors or equivalently qualified individuals) with outstanding research achievements. The anticipated commencement for this position is Spring 2025.⁠

Qualification Requirements

Official International High school Transcripts required.Submit a transcript which includes grades for all courses completed and final grades for the first semester of Senior Year. Graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior high school. International Baccalaureate IB Diploma is required. You must successfully complete the full IB Diploma, including at least 3 HL courses
The process to apply for the Dance program is a questionnaire and an audition. Please note that a live audition is strongly recommended and preferrred. If circumstances prevent your attendance at a live audition, we will accept a video audition.
IELTS - All test formats accepted with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0. TOEFL IBT- Overall score 88 with no part less than 20

Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic)- Overall score of 65, and a minimum score of 60 in the Communicative Skills, including: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing
