If you possess strong observation, communication, and problem-solving abilities along with a passion for delivering excellent patient care, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse could be an ideal career path. The face-to-face Practical Nursing diploma program at the Cranbrook campus spans two years and equips graduates to deliver professional healthcare services to individuals and families in diverse environments. Upon completion, graduates qualify to take the REx-PN examinations for Practical Nurse licensure.
This program emphasizes caring as a fundamental principle. Practical Nurses support patient autonomy in healthcare decisions while recognizing each individual's distinct biological, psychological, social, spiritual, cultural, and environmental needs. They provide comprehensive, safe care throughout all life stages, applying critical thinking and clinical expertise. Note that clinical placements may require travel to various locations within the East Kootenay region.
