The Brock Classics MA program stands out due to its vibrant, youthful, and dedicated faculty. This program takes a comprehensive view of ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, fostering language, literature, and historical studies while prioritizing historical context and material culture—particularly through hands-on archaeological work and Mediterranean travel opportunities. The Department consistently provides international courses for both undergraduate and graduate students, featuring archaeological field schools and educational trips to Greece, Italy, and Turkey. Graduate students without prior excavation or study tour experience can join these programs, while experienced participants may be eligible for teaching assistant roles. Recently, specialized archaeological research courses have been available in Greece and Turkey.
