The Environmental Engineering program equips students with specialized expertise for tackling challenges in sustainability, air quality control, climate solutions, environmental assessments, life cycle analysis, remediation projects, water purification, groundwater contamination, waste handling, resource conservation, and renewable energy systems.
This program acknowledges the varied scientific and technical backgrounds within the environmental sector, offering flexible pathways for applicants from different disciplines. Through a carefully designed curriculum blending fundamental studies, practical environmental engineering applications, management training, and communication skills development, graduates gain versatile competencies for diverse career paths. The culminating capstone project allows students to showcase their comprehensive understanding and practical abilities developed throughout the program. Qualification Requirements
Applicants are required to arrange a meeting with the program area by contacting the program head to review and assess their work experience and academic credentials. Applicants that do not meet all entrance requirements will receive a study plan indicating which pre-entry courses are required.
English language proficiency: Category 2 – English Studies 12 (67%) or equivalent
Post-secondary education: all of the following from a recognized institution:
Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or natural resource management
3.0 credits of English or BCIT Communications (60%)
3.0 credits of advanced-level technical mathematics or calculus (60%)
3.0 credits of organic chemistry (60%)
3.0 credits of general education in one of the following disciplines: humanities, natural sciences, or social sciences (60%)
