The Department of Law and Politics provides a Certificate in Public Policy and Administration. This program caters to both current degree-seeking students and working professionals/graduates aiming to develop expertise in Canadian Public Policy & Administration. The curriculum includes core courses along with advanced seminar-style classes focusing on Canadian Government, Public Policy and Administration, as well as related fields like International Relations and Comparative Politics. Participants can personalize part of their certificate by selecting POLI courses that align with their academic major or career goals, following program requirements. The Certificate is awarded upon completion of either the student's degree program or the certificate program itself.

Qualification Requirements
Successful completion of the IB Diploma with a minimum of 26 points and completion of all required prerequisite courses. Transfer credits may be awarded and will be determined upon receipt of official, sealed transcripts to be mailed directly from the issuing institution to Algoma University. Documents issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a notarized English translation. When proof of English language proficiency is required, test results must be issued directly from the Examining Board. Please refer to the language proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and required scores at the bottom of this page. Photocopied and notarized copies of transcripts and documents may be accepted for conditional offers of admission only. Transcripts must be issued directly by the institution to be considered official.
