Acadia's four-year theater program provides two specialized tracks: performance and production.

Theater is a team effort. It draws on the skills of diverse professionals:

set designers
performers
lighting and audio specialists
stage builders
scenic artists
digital media experts
front-of-house staff
The broader your expertise and creativity, the more valuable you become - to productions, your personal growth, and society.

In today's competitive employment landscape, theater training develops polished presentation abilities and self-expression techniques. These assets provide an edge across all professions. Acadia Theater cultivates eloquent, empowered global citizens equipped to contribute meaningfully to both artistic and civic spheres.

The collaborative nature of theater fosters adaptable skill development. Students gain experience both onstage and behind the scenes through academic coursework and hands-on studio training, deepening their understanding of theater's vital cultural role.

The program offers comprehensive theater education with career-focused preparation. Performance students master acting techniques, physical expression, vocal training, theatrical history, and dramatic texts while participating in Acadia Theater Company productions. The production track provides interdisciplinary training in technical theater disciplines.

Annually, the Acadia Theater Company presents two mainstage productions spanning contemporary, classical, and global works, plus a Minifest featuring student-created one-act plays. This festival provides complete production experience under faculty guidance.

Our faculty consists of accomplished professional artists committed to maintaining rigorous standards in both practice and scholarship. With small class sizes and personalized mentorship, we foster an inclusive learning environment where students receive detailed attention.

Acadia combines robust academics with intensive production opportunities. This dual focus, enhanced by individualized instruction and foundational training, develops versatile, critically-thinking graduates prepared for diverse career paths.
