The Visual Arts Department provides immersive degree programs that cultivate both technical abilities and conceptual thinking to bring artistic visions to life. As a Visual Arts student, you'll gain the ability to: Express ideas visually across diverse mediums such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and ceramics. Hone practical studio techniques through hands-on experience. View the world, different cultures, and everyday experiences through an artistic perspective. Engage in thoughtful examination of visual culture. Beyond intensive studio practice, our curriculum incorporates art history, theory courses, career preparation, and collaborations with regional galleries and arts groups.
Our intimate department fosters a tight-knit community of emerging artists. The modest scale enables professors to provide individualized mentorship during studio sessions. Each year, we organize educational excursions to museums and exhibition spaces, enhancing classroom instruction. Past destinations have included major art hubs like Toronto, Chicago, Montreal, Ottawa, Minneapolis, and New York.

Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD),
or Completion of Grade 12 and the Secondary School Diploma,
A minimum of 6 Grade 12U or M courses, or equivalent, including program specific prerequisite courses,
A minimum 70%* overall final average
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme applicants who achieve their diploma with a total score of at least 24 may be eligible for admission. Three Higher Level subjects must be completed. Prerequisite courses can be presented at either Standard Level or Higher Level. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. Some of our competitive programs may require a total score greater than 24.
Successful graduation from an academic secondary school program or equivalent (For most countries, the same academic preparation as is required for university entrance in that country is required for consideration. Refer to Admission Requirements by Country.)
