Our graduate certificate in Literature Teaching equips you with the expertise to critically examine and engage with literary works in academic environments. You'll gain valuable techniques to cultivate your students' ability to interpret deeper meanings beyond surface-level text. Suitable for both English MA candidates and those pursuing the certificate independently, the program features modern explorations of American literature, working-class narratives, diverse British genres, and multicultural viewpoints. This 12-credit, four-course certification proves particularly beneficial for literature educators at middle schools, high schools, and community colleges, while also serving as excellent preparation for advanced literary studies. The program provides either a specialized concentration within an English Master's degree or a comprehensive standalone introduction to literary instruction.
