Through classroom instruction, you will become a valuable resource for your future employer by producing engineering documents, conducting field and laboratory tests on construction materials, performing land surveys, and analyzing forces and stresses in structural systems. You will develop expertise through a two-year course sequence designed to equip you with the skills needed to assist civil engineers in structural design, public works, construction, inspection, transportation, and environmental engineering. You will be at the heart of the action as major projects take shape. Most graduates with an associate degree find employment with government agencies, engineering consultants, architectural firms, and contractors. The program's graduation rate stands at 63.7%.
Applicants must have graduated from high school or have successfully completed the General Education Development (GED) test to be considered for admission. Freshman applicants applying for admission to Youngstown State University must submit a high school transcript and American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores.
