The Biomedical Engineering graduate program launched in 2000 and quickly gained popularity as a field of study. The PhD curriculum in Biomedical Engineering combines two years of coursework with original research. Our doctoral program aims to foster students' independent research skills and creative thinking while enhancing their technical expertise. With an outstanding student-to-faculty ratio, the program guarantees continuous engagement between learners and professors. Academic work emphasizes core principles in addressing biomedical engineering challenges. Specialization options align with faculty research expertise. From their first year, students engage in research through two semester-long Special Investigations projects. Numerous graduate students conduct their research in cutting-edge laboratories at both the Malone Engineering Center and Yale School of Medicine.
