Students who have completed their theological education at accredited institutions and earned either a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.) or Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree qualify for admission to the Sacred Theology Master's (S.T.M.) program. This advanced study can serve as an additional year of ministerial preparation. The program offers specialized training for various Christian service roles, including campus ministry, institutional chaplaincy (such as in healthcare, military, or corporate settings), urban outreach, interfaith leadership, educational programming, global missions, or ministry focused on LGBTQ youth, displaced populations, or senior citizens. Alternatively, the S.T.M. can provide focused study in a particular theological discipline or serve as groundwork for doctoral research. Coursework may include classes from other university departments. Students must develop, get approval for, and follow a cohesive study plan aligned with one of these objectives, with at least 75% of coursework dedicated to their chosen specialization. Those pursuing general ministerial preparation may apply for exemptions from the standard concentration and thesis requirements.
