This dual-degree initiative merges the strengths of Yale's Jackson School of Global Affairs with the School of the Environment. Participants in this combined program develop interdisciplinary expertise in the scientific, policy, and financial dimensions of global resource stewardship and ecological challenges. Every environmental studies curriculum mandates 36 credit hours, along with a summer practicum and either a thesis or culminating project. Furthermore, all dual-degree candidates must complete three weeks of practical skills development prior to commencing their YSE coursework. These intensive August workshops cover plant recognition, ecosystem stewardship, terrain assessment, and urban ecological evaluation. Additional details can be found in YSE's Degree Programs section.
