The sculpture program provides students with a nurturing setting to advance their artistic practice through diverse critical perspectives. Encompassing a wide range of techniques and approaches—where no single method is favored—the program fosters an innovative atmosphere that reflects real-world artistic challenges. Each student enjoys a private studio while sharing communal spaces for work critiques. Located at 36 Edgewood, the facility features wood and metal workshops plus a computer lab, supplemented by university-wide resources (note: no metal-casting or ceramics equipment available). Central to the program is cultivating meaningful dialogue between students and instructors through various formats: individual meetings, small group discussions, and department-wide critiques. We emphasize contextualizing student work within both personal artistic growth and broader art historical and contemporary frameworks.
