The Master of Arts in European and Russian Studies stands out by encompassing all regions of Europe, including both Eastern and Western areas. This program enables students to select a specific regional specialization while also gaining exposure to other European territories beyond their primary focus. For instance, those focusing on Russia and Eastern Europe will primarily study that region but will also explore coursework covering Central and Western Europe. As an interdisciplinary degree, the E&RS MA offers concentrations across humanities fields (such as languages, literature, history, art, and music) and social sciences (including political science, economics, sociology, and anthropology), as well as law. It caters to students aiming for advanced academic research as well as those pursuing careers in policy, journalism, education, human rights, development, and non-governmental organizations.
Applicants must have completed your undergraduate degree (bachelor's or equivalent) or will have completed it prior to your intended matriculation date at Yale.
