Art history explores various artistic expressions, architectural works, and visual culture within their societal and historical frameworks. The History of Art major functions as either a broad humanities curriculum or a foundation for specialized study. Unless specified otherwise, Yale College students may enroll in any History of Art course. The major mandates that six intermediate and advanced courses meet both geographic and chronological distribution criteria, selected from four distinct regions and four historical eras.
Applicants must have a completion of high school.
Applicants will have IELTS scores of 7.0 or higher and Pearson Test scores of 70 or higher. TOEFL scores of at least the following: 100 on the internet-based TOEFL; 25 on the paper-and-paper TOEFL Paper-delivered Test.
