The Master of Science in Mathematics program provides in-depth education across core mathematical disciplines while maintaining adaptability for specialized interests. Students can choose from subjects like algebra, analysis, combinatorics, geometry, differential equations, graph theory, numerical methods, probability, and statistics. Your academic path is tailored to personal objectives within established parameters. To earn the degree, students must complete 30 credit hours, with a minimum of 16 credits from 7000-level mathematics courses (including one two-class sequence). The remaining credits come from 6000 or 7000-level math courses selected with faculty guidance. Alumni often enter teaching or corporate careers, or continue toward doctoral studies. The department accommodates working professionals by scheduling required courses during late afternoon and evening hours.
