William Paterson University's (WP) graduate program in athletic training provides a Master of Science in Athletic Training (MS in AT) through a demanding curriculum. This program equips students with essential knowledge and practical skills for their career development. Graduates will be fully qualified to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam. The WP Athletic Training (AT) Program aims to ready students for prosperous careers in the field or advanced doctoral studies for those pursuing further education.

Participants must fulfill 38 credit hours, combining classroom instruction with clinical training. The clinical component involves four semesters of practical work under a WP-approved preceptor, including an intensive full-semester immersion during the second year's fall term.

In addition to the University's admission requirements, the admission requirements for the MS in AT degree program are:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
A current resume
Two individuals to serve as references. Reference information should include the current contact information of each individual, including their email address and phone number. This can be former professors or other persons who can attest to the student's ability to succeed in graduate study in athletic training.
Official academic transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended showing evidence of a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and completion of the following MS in AT prerequisite courses:
Anatomy & Physiology I (C- or better)
Anatomy & Physiology II (C- or better)
Introduction to Sports Medicine (C- or better)

A one to two page personal statement stating why you are interested in pursuing a Master's degree in Athletic Training at WPU.
TOEFL scores are required for non-native English speakers. Minimum scores of 500/170/60 for paper/computer/internet versions.
