Qualification Requirements

Following are the minimum requirements for admission to the PhD in mechanical engineering program.
Applicants whose native language is not English must submit official, acceptable scores for either the TOEFL, the Academic Module of the IELTS examination, or the PTE-Academic test. Please visit the Graduate School website1, for other options for meeting English proficiency requirements.
Cumulative GPA in graduate coursework: Students admitted to the PhD in mechanical engineering degree program with prior graduate level course work must have an average GPA of 3.250 or better, on a 4.000 scale, in all graduate course work.

TOEFL - 79 on the internet-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test.
IELTS - minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required
