Your path to a thriving career in mechanical engineering starts with Western New England University's Five-year BSMS in Mechanical Engineering program. Over five years, you'll obtain both degrees faster than pursuing them individually, reducing your tuition costs. You'll concentrate your undergraduate studies in green, mechanical, or manufacturing specializations, while your graduate studies will build skills and expertise in these areas. To earn a BS in engineering and an MS in Mechanical Engineering, students must complete 153 credit hours total. The program includes four core courses in Engineering Management or Project Management, Quality Engineering, Design of Experiments, and System Integration. After finishing these 12 credits, you'll select an advisor and curriculum for the rest of your studies. Options include an all-course track; a project track with advanced classes and a final presented project; or a thesis track, featuring advanced coursework and a thesis with a presentation.
Provisional acceptance is granted to incoming freshmen who have a 3.5 high school GPA. Students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher each year (freshman, sophomore, and junior years) in order to maintain their provisional acceptance. Students who do not qualify for provisional acceptance as an incoming freshman can apply during the first semester of their junior year, as long as they have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
