The Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing and Design Engineering (MaDE) is the Segal Design Institute's undergraduate degree program, culminating in a Bachelor of Science awarded by Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering. ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission accredits the MaDE program. MaDE students continuously investigate innovative approaches in manufacturing and design engineering. They cultivate skills to combine diverse design and manufacturing methods into efficient systems that provide value to end-users and markets.
GOALS & ACHIEVEMENTS
MaDE students study and engage in all phases of product realization, spanning from product design through manufacturing technologies and operations. The curriculum emphasizes three primary domains:
Process and product design
Manufacturing systems
Manufacturing management
