The Department of Mechanical Engineering at San José State University serves as the primary source of engineering talent for Silicon Valley's diverse high-tech industries. The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering program holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission, meeting both General Program Criteria and Mechanical and Similarly Named Engineering Programs standards.
Students must Earn a high school diploma, or equivalent and earn the equivalent of a U.S. 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or an average of “B” grades. Successfully complete three years of college preparatory mathematics with a minimum grade of “C-” or better.
English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL – 80 (IBT), Paper based – 550; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 44.
