Saint Louis University's School of Science and Engineering offers a groundbreaking mechanical engineering program that combines hands-on learning with academic theory. Students gain practical experience using equipment for fluids, thermal systems, materials testing, structural analysis, mechatronics, and robotics, creating ideal conditions for applying classroom concepts to real-world situations. While many mechanical engineering programs offer research opportunities, our first-year students dive right in: operating tools, conducting experiments, and contributing to published research. They begin working with equipment as freshmen rather than waiting until junior year, and assume leadership roles early in their academic journey instead of delaying until senior year.
To be considered for admission to any Saint Louis University undergraduate program, applicants must be graduating from an accredited high school, have an acceptable HiSET exam score or take the General Education Development (GED) test.
GPA: Minimum cumulative 3.00 high school GPA for freshmen applicants and 2.70 college GPA for transfer applicants.
English Language Proficiency:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5
Pearson Test of English (PTE): 54
Computer-based TOEFL (IBT): 80
