The Master of Social Work program equips students for direct service roles and leadership careers in social work, with accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education. Its curriculum combines conceptual learning with practical training in a progressive sequence. The School of Social Work embraces diverse theoretical approaches and values, encouraging students to integrate these perspectives while fostering knowledge development and practical skill enhancement.
To meet accreditation standards, students must achieve proficiency in core competencies and practice behaviors. This graduate program offers specialized advanced training alongside a foundational curriculum rooted in liberal arts. This foundation serves dual purposes: 1) equipping students with professional knowledge, ethical principles, and skills to understand social work systems, and 2) preparing them for specialized concentration areas.
The Clinical Social Work specialization trains students to become skilled practitioners and leaders in individual, family, and group interventions. Concentration courses develop advanced clinical capabilities, including comprehensive assessment techniques, effective intervention methods, and critical evaluation of practice approaches and outcomes with clients.
