Geography is a versatile liberal arts degree that opens doors to diverse career paths in public and private organizations. At Western Michigan University, geography majors can choose from four concentration areas: geographic information systems, environmental studies and resource conservation, climate studies, or urban and regional development planning. WMU geography students have opportunities to enhance their education through international study programs, independent research projects, or career-focused internships.
A first-year applicant is a student who is applying for admission and who has not attempted or earned any college credit after graduating from high school/secondary school (or earned equivalent).
