At Indiana University, geographers specializing in Food and Agriculture research examine farming choices, food policies, consumer preferences, nutrition access, food system management, and culinary traditions. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, our Food and Agriculture program aims to deepen knowledge about food production and consumption patterns, the workings of worldwide food networks, and ways to create fairer, more sustainable food systems. Graduates from this program often work with private companies, nonprofits, or government agencies at various levels, while some pursue advanced degrees. Beyond classroom learning, students collaborate closely with professors on research projects and specialized studies aligned with their academic interests.
