Electrical engineers create, test, and enhance electrical and electronic components that sense, link, manage, and energize modern technology. The curriculum covers control mechanisms, circuit design, communication systems, digital logic, signal processing, power systems, electromagnetics, energy transformation, sensor technology, microcomputers, semiconductor materials, and typically includes a mathematics minor. Western Michigan University's IEEE student chapter organizes guest lectures, technical screenings, industry visits, and networking events.
A first-year applicant is a student who is applying for admission and who has not attempted or earned any college credit after graduating from high school/secondary school (or earned equivalent).
