Western Michigan University offers a stage management concentration that serves as a pre-professional training program, equipping students with comprehensive knowledge of theater production alongside specialized stage management courses. This curriculum readies graduates for either entry-level theater roles or advanced studies in graduate programs.
Students benefit from intensive faculty-led instruction and masterclasses featuring visiting professionals, all within cutting-edge performance spaces. The facilities boast three theaters equipped with sophisticated lighting, infrared and color monitoring, cue light systems, and digital audio-visual technology. The Design Studio hosts stage management and design courses, featuring 24 CADD workstations to support personalized learning.
A first-year applicant is a student who is applying for admission and who has not attempted or earned any college credit after graduating from high school/secondary school (or earned equivalent).
