The field of gender and women's studies enhances undergraduate education through its interdisciplinary approach. It broadens learners' understanding of cultural gender construction, expression, and preservation. Our students report that this program uncovers new inquiries and opportunities they hadn't previously imagined. While academically rigorous, this discipline originates from social justice activism. Coursework explores varied viewpoints on complex identities encompassing gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, nationality, and beyond. Participants describe our interactive seminars as both intellectually stimulating and personally meaningful, facilitating simultaneous self-discovery and global awareness.
