Our Gender and Sexuality Studies program equips undergraduate students with intersectional feminist frameworks for examining gender and sexuality while cultivating critical feminist and queer scholarship. We employ interdisciplinary and global methodologies to analyze and conceptualize gender and sexuality. The curriculum includes diverse courses exploring gender and sexual identities across cultures worldwide.
As a gender and sexuality studies major, you will:
examine historical and modern systems of cisheteropatriarchy and racial dominance while exploring resistance movements
explore various feminist theories and knowledge systems through core requirements and elective offerings
develop skills to become an engaged global citizen ready for feminist and queer advocacy
gain preparation for advanced academic work in gender studies or careers in education, law, nonprofits, policy, activism, social services, healthcare, and related professions
