The arts and sciences program represents WMU's classic English curriculum, focusing on British and American literature along with language studies. The secondary education track mirrors this but includes specialized training for teaching English and language arts in secondary schools. For aspiring writers, the creative writing program blends conventional literary studies with progressive workshops in poetry, drama, fiction, and creative nonfiction.
