The MSW program aims to equip students for high-level social work practice, tackling intricate human challenges through either direct interpersonal methods or expertise in community engagement, policy development, and leadership. This program fosters an inclusive partnership among faculty, staff, students, and the broader social work field to implement research-backed approaches that promote human rights along with social, economic, and environmental equity, especially in urban settings. Grounded in ecological systems theory, international awareness, and appreciation for diverse populations, the MSW curriculum develops socially conscious professionals who combat racism and oppression while upholding fundamental social work principles: service, equity, individual dignity, relationship significance, ethical practice, professional capability, human rights protection, and evidence-based methods.
