If you currently hold teacher certification in Health and Physical Education or Special Education and wish to expand your credentials with an Adapted Physical Education endorsement for your Michigan teaching license, this program requires completing 30 credit hours. The State of Michigan mandates 19 specific credit hours for certification, while the remaining 11 credits are elective courses. These electives must be selected from approved KIN, KHS, HPE, HE, SED, or SAM courses with advisor approval. Additionally, all candidates must successfully pass the relevant MTTC content examination for either Health and Physical Education or Special Education.

Qualification Requirements

Admission to the M.S. program is contingent upon admission to the Graduate School. In addition, applicants must provide a personal statement including career/academic goals, and official transcripts of meeting the following criteria:

Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher for regular admission
Undergraduate of GPA 2.8 - 2.99 for qualified admission
No GRE required

To establish English proficiency, you are required to submit an official qualifying score meeting minimum Graduate School requirements. The Graduate School's English Language Proficiency requirements are the absolute minimum, programs can set higher minimum standards. You are expected to meet the requirements set by your program of interest.
