The Clinical Psychology Program at Washington State University follows the scientist-practitioner training approach. This curriculum blends theoretical knowledge, research methodologies, and hands-on clinical experience throughout student education. Participants engage in research projects every semester and begin clinical practicum work by their third semester, continuing until they commence their year-long internship. The program aims to develop skilled clinical psychologists who secure prestigious APA-accredited internships and subsequently advance the field through meaningful professional contributions. Recognizing that alumni may pursue diverse career paths in academia, research, healthcare, clinical practice, or community service, the program offers comprehensive training during students' four to five years of study. Specialization areas encompass: Clinical Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, Adult Psychopathology, Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology, and Psychological Quantitative Methods. The American Psychological Association grants this program full accreditation.
