The graduate program in our department aims to cultivate skilled applied scientists prepared for diverse career paths. Those pursuing a Master's degree will be equipped to support clinical psychologists and practice as mental health professionals, while doctoral candidates will develop expertise in teaching, research, and professional service. All students benefit from close faculty engagement through coursework, advisory committees, and various departmental initiatives. Our faculty's collaborative environment and manageable size allow students to interact with nearly every department member. The program offers both Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Applied Psychology. Applicants may enter either the MS psychology program or the PhD psychology track. While all PhD candidates receive an MS degree, terminal master's students complete their program without a thesis. PhD applicants select between two specializations: Applied Developmental Psychology or Applied Biopsychology.
