This program encompasses scholars specializing in diverse branches of pure mathematics. PhD in Mathematics (Applied Mathematics Track) The increasing specialization of academic fields presents both challenges and opportunities for researchers working at the intersection of mathematics and its practical applications. The Applied Mathematics Track enables students from various academic backgrounds to follow a conventional applied mathematics curriculum while maintaining the flexibility to deeply explore an application area. Applicants aren't required to hold an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, but must demonstrate proficiency in advanced calculus and linear algebra equivalent to a Mathematics bachelor's degree. Students then enjoy considerable freedom to pursue specialized coursework in both Mathematics and their chosen application field.
PhD in Mathematics with Education Focus The PhD in Mathematics with Education Focus recognizes scholarly excellence and original contributions to mathematics pedagogy.
